Adjunct Professor at Saint Joseph's College
January 2012 - Present-Taught in three interdisciplinary general education courses, aimed at educating students on society and diversity around them, in terms of liberal arts and evolutionary science. -Created structured courses, that focused on interdisciplinary learning, diversity, and student success. -Worked with interdisciplinary committees to create course evaluation tools, such as rubrics and test/banks. -Worked with interdisciplinary committee to evaluate student success in courses by looking at quantitative and qualitative data.

Asst. Manager of Merchandising at Borders
March 2010 - March 2011-Created a dynamic store environment, that focused on ease of patron use, and highlighted the information needs of a diverse user base. -Worked to provided services to adult and youth patrons, by creating a friendly and open work environment that encouraged customers to ask questions. -Kept abreast of the current reading trends and read-a-likes to be able to better provide reader's advisory services. -Used technology to communicate with patrons who were not able to physically come to the store, including fielding calls through telephone relay services. -Helped to create in-store programming that fulfilled the diverse needs of the user base, including running/helping with author visits and signings, as well as running a children's story hour. -Supervised a team of five workers in setting up, taking down, and maintaing the store's merchandising. -Created dynamic and visually interesting book and media displays, that were used by the regional store manager as examples for other stores in our region. -Worked with the sales manager, to collect statistics, that would better allow us to purchase items better suited to our customer's needs.

July 2010 - December 2010-Provided adult and children's reference services, online, over the phone, and in person. -Taught youth patrons how to: use call-numbers; judge if a source is credible/relevant; use the library catalogue to conduct searches; and how to use a book's bibliography to find like sources. -Overhauled the adult non-fiction medical collection, by using circulation statistics, to create a collection that better reflected patron needs/wants. -Used online data bases and library statistics to researched and help to create a list of books to overhaul the children's non-fiction section, for a grant the library was awarded. -Researched and drew up a comprehensive plan for an Adult Summer Reading Program, by working with librarians from other libraries, to create a diverse, cost effective, and easy to use program. -Compiled reader's advisory lists, and a list of classics the library owned, and created both bookmark versions, as well as online lists that were linked to the library catalogue.
